I’ve never experienced a dramatic “Saul conversion.” In fact, when asked to share my testimony, I used to run. I never thought I had a testimony, as all I’d ever known was a life with God. To be honest, I was a little envious of those who had a wild past and then remarkably encountered God and experienced radical transformation. I felt boring with nothing much to say and somewhat left out.
Are You In A Rut?
We can get into ruts like that, believing only certain ones can live radically transformed lives in Christ that require dramatic conversion. What I have learned is that every day is an adventure, discovery, and encounter with God. I want to see and experience him every day. Some days I don’t see it and I miss out. Other days are amazing!
I believe God is watching, searching for individuals like you and me who will dare to ask, live, and risk following him on a daily basis. When we open our minds, hearts, eyes, and ears we will discover the unexplainable. I’ve seen it.
A Life Saved
Recently a simple announcement was made in church asking those present to pray for a change of heart for our governor as she was about to veto a bill that would ban late term abortions. The announcement concluded with, “We have got to quit killing our children!”
A young girl who was scheduled to have an abortion that week was sitting in the service—as a first time visitor. What she heard got her attention. At the conclusion of our services prayer partners are available for those who want someone to pray with them. This young gal rushed down front. As a result she was introduced to another lady who had experienced two abortions and now leads a group of women who have been wounded by that experience. One abortion averted. One life saved.
Through that incident we witnessed the power of God in action transforming a heart and life. Where do you see God working? Are we creating opportunities and environ-ments for God to work? |L
