Once passing by a school I saw a small boy being made a target by others who were making fun of him. He was new in school and a bit scared of the bullies.
I was about to stop my car when I saw another car stop and the champion wrestler of our country, well known to everyone, stepped out and said, “Hey, son, everything alright?” The little boy ran toward his father’s open arms and looked back from his father’s loving embrace to the bullies who were awestruck and unable to move. The little boy smiled through his tear-stained face and said, “Dad, these are my classmates. They were trying to get to know me. Come meet them.”
God’s Amazing Equations
God’s equations are amazing (1 Corinthians 1:29). His choice of friends, disciples, and apostles are amazing. His family tree on this earth and Heaven is amazing. The good news is that we can see ourselves added to this amazing list. The transformation of ordinary people into extraordinary people with his power and might is possible, as we have witnessed.
An Awesome Acknowledgement
The words of the angel of the Lord to Gideon (who was scared of the mighty army of Midianites) may seem like a mockery to many, but it was not. Gideon had doubts about himself, his clan, even his God, but God patiently answered all his questions, and eased his worries (vv. 13-19). The power of God is within us because our God doesn’t live in a building; he lives in our hearts, if we let him. Gideon’s mind and eyes were not able to look beyond his own circumstances and sufferings. But once that problem was resolved he was satisfied and he went on with the assurance and power of God. No one could stand before him. Today we are in a spiritual war (Ephesians 6:12). No matter how we have started in life, we have to finish like a mighty worrier of God. When we pray and put on God’s armor, we will receive the crown of glory in our heavenly Father’s home. |L
