By Michael C. Mack

1. Which of the following are not in the Bible?

• Money is the root of all evil.

• God helps those who help themselves.

• To thine own self be true.

• Cleanliness is next to godliness.

• The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Read Ezekiel 18:1-13, 30-32.

2. What does this passage teach you about God and his character?

3. Why is it important to your faith that God is a just God who shows no partiality? (See Deuteronomy 10:17; 32:4.)

4. Since God judges each of us for our own sin, how should we respond? What does this passage suggest about blaming our parents for the wrong actions we have taken in life?

5. If our children are not safe just because they grew up in a Christian home or attended church with us, what is our responsibility as parents?

6. Who are you compelled to pray for regarding their own relationship with God and salvation? yourself? a child or other family member? a friend?

(#1: None of these are in the Bible.)
